Jamie Carragher will switched on Union 22’s Christmas lights
The LFC legend will mark the festive season by turning on the lights to celebrate a charity shopping evening at the luxury store which will donate 5% of its proceeds to the 23 Foundation, the charity created by Liverpool FC’s Jamie Carragher in partnership with Community Foundation for Merseyside’s Development that focuses on helping local youth.
Shoppers may remember Union 22’s eye-catching external video wall that was erected last Christmas in aid of Cash For Kids, which saw the luxury menswear retailer raising thousands of pounds for the charity.
This year, Union 22 will see big brands including Liverpool Gin and some of the store’s most premium names including Nobis, Canali, Herno and Tom Ford all getting involved to showcase their brands on this year’s lavish video wall.
The vibrant video wall will dress the entire Union House building, lighting it up on Victoria Street ahead of the festive season when it goes live on Thursday 29th November.
The video wall will also detail ways in which passers-by and the people of Liverpool can donate to the charity in a bid to raise some serious cash for the city’s young people.
Dale Allman, co-founder of Union 22, said: “Last year, our video wall gained a lot of traction and so we wanted this years to be bigger and better than before. It’s for a great cause and it is the festive period after all so we really hope the people of Liverpool will dig deep and donate whatever they can to the 23 Foundation.”
Community Foundation for Merseyside’s Development Director, Karen Morris said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Union 22 on this fantastic project raising money for Jamie’s 23 Foundation. We believe that what makes a difference is working together to achieve so much more.
“Anything people can give will make a huge difference to the lives of local people. Every penny raised will stay here, in Merseyside, to help those who need it most.”
