Information for Professional Advisers
How we can work together
Tap into our expertise when your clients need to make informed charitable investment decisions as part of their financial planning journey.
Whilst your clients may want to give back to causes close to their heart, they won’t necessarily know how to do it. This is where we can help. Working in close partnership with many professional advisers, we provide bespoke advice, support and structure.
We look to develop mutually beneficial long-term relationships that ensure we jointly deliver excellent customer service to your clients, by meeting their needs and helping them to make a difference locally, whilst making their charitable giving as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Every client is different, so we look to provide a package bespoke to their needs. We offer a host of options including:
- Setting up a personal fund
- Transferring the burden of running a charitable trust
- Setting up an ‘in memorium’ fund
- Leaving a legacy or gift in their will
Trust management and transfers
So, your client wants to establish a charitable trust, but charity law-mandated legal responsibilities are complex and challenging. Setting up your own charity from scratch and promoting it is a huge commitment that many can’t make. However, we can take the stress out of promoting and managing a trust, by implementing an off-the-shelf charitable foundation that is bespoke to your client’s needs. Our full support service ensures a robust approach, and that any investment is in safe hands.
We have the expertise to help you set up and manage a stand-alone charitable fund or foundation to meet your client’s charitable giving aims, as a business, organisation, family or individual, and they can be as involved as they wish, but we take away the burden of the set-up, management and monitoring.
We will connect your clients to those charities and projects that are making the biggest difference. We review the grant applications, provide summaries of the projects, perform extensive due diligence to thoroughly check their eligibility, follow their progress and report back to your client on the impact their giving has had. Your clients can visit projects and see for themselves the positive impact that their charitable giving achieves, or they can remain completely anonymous.
Perhaps your client is looking to revitalise ineffective funds they have set up or inherited? By transferring these to us, we can breathe new life into them, repackaging and managing them on their behalf. Our success in revitalising dormant or ineffective trusts is well established.
Other options are available, which your client may want to explore, including giving to an existing fund, such as the Merseyside Women’s Fund. These are funds that have been set up by the Community Foundation to address specific issues affecting the region which are a priority.
Leaving a lasting legacy
Many individuals are passionate about creating a unique and lasting legacy through gifting in their will or setting up an ‘in memorium’ foundation in their name which will continue after their death. We can design a bespoke package, tailored exclusively to meet your client’s requirements, reflecting their personal wishes and benefitting future generations for years to come.
Structured giving
We can also help you decide how best to structure your client’s giving, dependent on whether they are thinking about a long-term commitment, or they want to put their investment to work for immediate impact.
