Introducing CFM’s New Marketing Team

The Community Foundation for Merseyside (CFM) has strengthened our marketing and communications capacity with three exciting developments: the promotion of Ben Roberts to Head of Insight and Communications, the appointment of Alayna Navegantes as Marketing and Events Executive, and the expanded role of Amy Norris, now Programmes and Marketing Executive.

Ben Roberts

Head of Insight and Communications

Ben Roberts first joined CFLM in 2017 as a Business Development Executive, later taking on responsibilities in operations and research. His journey through various departments has given him a deep understanding of our work—from how we support donors to the impact we enable within communities. This new role brings together Ben’s extensive insight experience with oversight of CFLM’s communications strategy, stakeholder engagement, and data-led storytelling.

Ben will lead CFLM’s marketing and communications strategy, elevate our public profile, deepen our insight into local needs, and ensure our storytelling truly reflects the scale of local community groups work and its importance.

“Throughout my time at the Community Foundation, I’ve had the privilege of using research to understand community need and highlight the incredible work of grassroots organisations. In 2022, after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, I experienced firsthand the vital role of local charities. The support I received from a small cancer support charity we have funded in the past, was fantastic. That personal connection has only strengthened my passion for communicating the impact and value of our local voluntary sector.”

Alayna Navegantes

Marketing and Events Executive

Joining the team in March 2025, Alayna brings a vibrant background in digital marketing, event coordination, and graphic design, with experience across Brazil and the UK. Her most recent role saw her have oversight of marketing for Mersey Raw, where she led content strategy, social media, and visual design. She also played a key role in political and cultural campaigns across Brazil, where her skills helped deliver results for mayoral and gubernatorial candidates.

Since joining CFLM, Alayna has already enhanced the visual identity of our digital communications, taken ownership of our events and social media calendar, and contributed to the design of several reports and campaign materials. Her creativity and organisation are set to be a real asset in how we engage with our communities and partners.

Amy Norris

Programmes & Marketing Executive

Amy joined CFM in 2022 as a Programmes Executive, where she became a key point of contact for grant applicants, ensuring smooth application processes and timely impact reporting. Her knack for tech and communications saw her take on additional responsibilities in website management and social media—naturally bridging the gap between marketing and programmes.

Now, as Programmes & Marketing Executive, Amy’s dual role formally connects two of CFM’s core teams. She plays a central role in curating stories of community impact, helping shape donor communications and public messaging. Amy also supports community engagement activities and marketing efforts, ensuring our communications are always rooted in real experiences and stories from the communities we serve.

At the end of April, we will launch a newsletter highlighting inspiring stories from the community, insight from donors, a peak behind the scenes and an overview of available grants. To receive our bi-monthly newsletter sign up below.
