Merseyside Women of The Year Awards

As the charity partner of the Merseyside Women of the Year (MWOTY) Awards, we were proud to once again take part in an event that has become a highlight of our annual calendar—and a firm team favourite.

The awards celebrate women who are making a meaningful difference across our region, sharing remarkable stories of leadership, resilience, and community impact.

As always, we produced a video spotlighting a Merseyside Women’s Fund grant recipient, helping attendees see the real-world difference their support makes.

Q&A with Nicola Carragher

This year, we were also joined by a special guest: Nicola Carragher, who took part in a Q&A with our CEO, Rae Brooke, discussing her inspiring journey to run all the major marathons and what drives her.

MWOTY Fundraising

Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, MWOTY raised an incredible £4,776.28 for the Merseyside Women’s Fund.

These funds will go directly to women-led organisations supporting projects that empower women and girls.

In 2018 the Merseyside Women’s Fund was established by us after our national membership body, UK Community Foundations (UKCF), secured a record £3.4m award from the DCMS Tampon Scheme. We received £70,000 from the allocation to enable us to launch the new fund. Since then we’ve worked with local donors such as MWOTY to distribute over £324,000 helping more than 7800 women and girls.
