The Tilney Fund

Background Information: Tilney and the Community Foundation for Merseyside are pleased to announce the latest round of the Tilney Fund. If you are a local voluntary or community group based in Merseyside or Halton and need funding for a project focusing primarily on improving the lives of local young people, the Tilney Fund may be able to help.

 

What are the objects of the fund: The aim of the Tilney Fund in Merseyside and Halton is to make a significant, positive impact on young people’s lives by supporting educational initiatives, as well as health and wellbeing and employability projects in the local community.

 

Fund priorities

 

Priority will be given to applicants that demonstrate how their project will make a difference to beneficiaries’ lives, e.g.  if a young person gains new skills, qualifications or experiences how these will be applied post project such as through guaranteed work experience/interviews etc. Applicants’ annual income must be less than £500,000. Also, please note the Tilney Fund panel are keen to see applications for projects that will result in some form of qualification or accreditation.

 

How much is available: The budget is £17,000 and grants are available up to £5,000.

 

Which areas are covered: Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral

 

How to apply: Please visit www.cfmerseyside.org.uk  to complete an online application. Before you submit your online application, please attach the supporting documents listed below.  If you are unable to do this at the time of submission, you can email the documents to applications@cflm.email within seven days. 

 

The deadline for applications is the 4th February 2022, however, as there are limited funds available and we do not want to disappoint too many applicants, the fund may close earlier so we recommend you apply as soon as possible and we will keep you updated via our website and social media.

How are decisions made?

Completed applications are considered by Community Foundation staff to check eligibility. You may be contacted for more information after applying, and a decision-making panel comprising Tilney Fund staff will consider and make recommendations on all applications.

 

Timescales:

You will usually be notified of the decision within 2 weeks of the panel, which will be held at the end of March.
