Peel Ports Mersey Fund

Background Information: Funding for this programme has been provided by Peel Ports

What is the focus of the fund: Projects should support disadvantaged people living in the Port’s operation area, be based on real need and demonstrate value for money.

How much is available: Grants of up to £1000 are available.  As the fund wishes to distribute the monies as widely as possible to ensure there are a large number of beneficiaries, it expects most grants awarded to be in the region of £500.  Larger grants are most likely to be awarded for those projects that meet the special criteria and benefit a large number of people.

Which areas are covered: Bootle, South Sefton, Birkenhead and Runcorn

Any special criteria: Priority will be given to small grassroot groups who struggle to access external funding and who do not have high reserves.  Peel Ports wishes to fund those groups where a small amount of funding can have a real impact and wide community benefit.  It will not fund general running costs.
