Breathe Better Air Community Fund launched in Merseyside to help tackle air pollution

The Breathe Better Air Community Fund, launched on 5 June to mark World Environment Day, will help grass roots community groups raise awareness of the air pollution.

The focus of the Breathe Better Air Community Fund is on tackling air pollution at a local level to demonstrate impact across areas most affected by air pollution.

The scheme will encourage and enable grassroots organisations in the Liverpool City Region, Birmingham and Manchester, to become effective air quality campaigners, give visibility to community representatives driving awareness of air quality issues, and seek to strengthen evidence bases regarding local approaches to tackling air pollution.

Grants of up to £5,000 are available to 50 eligible grass-roots organisations across Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester.

Who can apply: Voluntary or community groups with a governing document, constitution or set of rules in the group’s name, based in the Liverpool City Region.
