World Suicide Prevention Day: The Story Behind Six Connections’ Life-Saving App

In Liverpool, the suicide rate stands at 13.5 per 100,000 people, well above the England average of 10.7.

Charities across Merseyside work tirelessly to try and help, supporting people in crisis with counselling, chances to connect and so much more.

On this year’s World Suicide Prevention Day, we want to highlight the work of Six Connections.

Using £2,500 from the Christal Foundation, founder of Dave Scholes, developed an AI-powered app designed to reach people experiencing crisis and provide support at critical moments.

That funding helped turn an idea into a life-saving tool which has since contributed to saving two men’s lives.

Watch Dave’s talk below to hear more about the project in his own words.
