Jamie Carragher’s 23 Foundation is set to fund food banks in North Liverpool and South Sefton to support those in need over the summer holidays.
In a recent article in the Liverpool Echo, Food banks in Merseyside have reported a 25% rise in demand for food during the school summer holidays. Families with young children are struggling as many kids no longer have access to free school lunches and breakfast clubs.
The problem is made worse as regular donors are away from home during the summer months.
Providing support, the 23 Foundation is donating funds to Food banks help replenish stocks over the summer months.
The organisations receiving a share of the donation are Sefton CVS (Sefton4Good campaign), South Sefton Food Bank and North Liverpool Food Bank.
